Description
Set up and lead the local finance function, covering accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, compliance, and planning.
Act as the main financial liaison between Portugal and Group HQ.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting under IFRS and internal policies.
Oversee local investment projects, ensuring budget control and risk mitigation.
Lead ERP (e.g. SAP) implementation and standardise finance processes.
Monitor CAPEX and OPEX execution against defined targets and deadlines.
Manage statutory reporting, audits, and relationships with external authorities.
Support senior leadership with financial insights, forecasting, and analysis.
Align with the Asset Accounting team on asset capitalisation and depreciation.
Build and develop a high-performing local finance team.
Contribute to internal control and risk management frameworks.
Profile
Background & Experience:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in finance roles.
Mandatory experience in a Big 4 environment (audit or advisory), preferably with exposure to industrial or manufacturing clients.
Proven track record in financial leadership roles within multinational or production settings.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Portuguese GAAP.
Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP (rollout or implementation experience is a strong plus).
Experience in investment project management, financial modelling, and project cost control.
Fluency in English (mandatory).
