Our cliente is a Banking Institution that is looking for a Head of Accounting&Controlling.

The Head of Accounting & Controlling leads the financial accounting, reporting, and controlling functions to ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal standards. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budget monitoring, performance analysis, and strategic financial planning. The position plays a key role in supporting management decisions and improving financial efficiency across the organization.

Principais responsabilidades

Lead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and tax compliance;

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS (if applicable);

Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and cost control processes;

Develop and monitor key financial KPIs, providing actionable insights to support strategic decisions;

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with statutory requirements;

Manage treasury operations and cash flow forecasting in alignment with company objectives;

Optimize and ensure compliance with internal control systems and accounting procedures;

Lead and mentor the accounting and controlling team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development;

Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure financial transparency and discipline across the organization;

Report regularly to executive management on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.

Perfil desejado

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics;

Banking experience is mandatory;

Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) is mandatory;

Relevant experience in a senior finance or leadership position;

Strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards, tax laws, and IFRS;

Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cost control;

Solid analytical skills and attention to detail;

Excellent communication and leadership skills.
