Job Overview

Scope of Work:
• HR Management:
○ Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall hospital strategy.
○ Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure the hospital attracts, hires, and retains qualified staff.
○ Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs to foster a positive workplace culture.
○ Administer employee benefits programs, payroll, and compensation strategies.
○ Provide support and guidance to management and employees on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
○ Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to reflect changes in labor laws and hospital practices.
○ Conducting audits of payroll, benefits, and other HR programs, and recommending corrective actions.
○ Conduct training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
○ Processing and maintaining all status reports including salary discussions and changes.
○ Oversee or otherwise execute the maintenance of current HR files and databases.
○ Foster a culture of continuous improvement, diversity, and inclusion within the hospital.
• Compliance Management:
○ Ensure the hospital complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including healthcare laws and labor laws.
○ Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
○ Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
○ Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
○ Investigate compliance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
○ Provide training and education to staff on compliance policies and procedures.
○ Stay updated with changes in healthcare regulations and standards, and advise the management team accordingly.
○ Collaborate with department heads to ensure adherence to compliance standards across all hospital operations.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Compliance (CHPC) or similar certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR management and compliance within a healthcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices. Specific knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Position Details:
• Full-time permanent position
• Based in Jamaica
