Description: The research laboratory LAQV@REQUIMTE is seeking applicants to apply for PhD grants to develop research work under the listed scientific research topics. Candidates are expected to be highly motivated to complete a four-year PhD program. The primary research activities will be conducted at the host institution, but candidates may spend short periods in other locations in Europe with our research partners to strengthen their work and scientific skills.
Research topics:
A) Eutectic Solutions for Controlled and Advanced Pulmonary Enhancement in Tuberculosis
B) Development and Optimization of Extraction Methods for Bioactive Compounds Using Green Solvents and Sustainable Technologies
Scientific supervision: The PhD programs will be supervised by Dr. Mafalda Sarraguça and Prof. Dr. Salette Reis, LAQV@REQUIMTE, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, Portugal. A second institution in another European country will also be available.
Requirements:
• BSc + Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields with a minimum average grade equivalent to a 16 on the Portuguese grading scale (out of 20).
• Degrees must be recognized in Portugal.
• Selected candidates will apply for a PhD grant in Portugal (FCT/MCTES) in April 2025.
