Job Description:
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals. Your duties will include:
Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
Monitoring patient vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
Helping with mobility and physical exercises as prescribed by the healthcare team
Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
Assisting with administering medications and other treatments as directed
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
Documenting and reporting patient information to the nursing staff
Ensuring patient dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential
QQI level 5 qualification in care of the elderly or similar
A caring, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of healthcare procedures and protocols
Ability to lift and move patients safely
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
