Work Supply – Trabalho Temporário Lda is seeking to hire a general manager (who will also assume the role of technical director) to oversee and manage the overall and day to day operations of our company, to lead, control and supervise the workforce as well as improve efficiency and ensure positive financial and commercial results along with growth and stability.
This professional will report to the shareholders and will have the following main responsibilities:
• Coordinate all the activities carried out by the company across various sectors
• Redefine tasks and responsibilities of the staff composed of roughly 20 workers and ensure that they are properly and diligently carrying out their tasks
• Assume the role of leader and provide staff with complete and comprehensive guidance and support
• Support in the processing of all management information, namely compiling all maps and accounting reports, controlling receipts, managing the company's treasury, payments to suppliers, bank reconciliations and all else related to accounting
• Provides leadership in dealing with difficulties and shows ability in providing effective and pragmatic solutions to challenges that arise on a daily basis
• Anticipates problems, obstacles and difficulties and decides on measures to be taken to defuse or minimize them
• Supports staff engagement and incentivizes performance
• Assists in the hiring, orientation, performance reviews, and recommendations regarding disciplinary action when necessary
• Facilitates the delivery of services that will generate revenues sufficient to support staff and operations, as well as growth and development
• Ensures strict compliance with applicable rules and regulations in the fields in which Work Supply operates and fully understands the risks and consequences of non-compliance
• Acts as the chief representative of Work Supply with community stakeholders, business partners/potential partners, state agencies, law enforcement and the community in general
• Regularly conducts staff meetings to address the state of affairs, workflow matters, projects, problems, incidents and other issues
• Develops and reviews policy and procedures
• Develops operational workflows that effectively and efficiently implement protocols and requirements
• Performs all other duties as required to ensure that ensure that goals and objectives are met and operations flow as smoothly as possible
PROFILE:
• Excellent level of English – ability to read, speak and write at mother tongue level (MANDATORY)
• A VERY STRONG preference for those who possess degree in accounting and that are active members of the Chartered accountants of Portugal
• A STRONG preference for those with previous experience working in temporary work agency activities
• Extraordinary work ethic, level of commitment and availability (those with the “9 to 5, Monday to Friday” mentality need not apply)
• Highly intelligent, proactive and innovative mind, a fast thinker, quick learner with an innate and strong ability to come up with answers and solutions
• Extraordinary level of motivation, maturity and responsibility
• Ability to work with total autonomy and independence
• The ideal candidate would be one that teaches us from the start and not the other way around; that doesn´t always asks questions or needs guidance, but simply gets things done quickly and effectively with virtually no guidance, nor instructions.
