Motivation and EVS experience of the Organization:
We’ve been working in the field of EVS since 2003. Until 2008 we had sent more than 20 volunteers and hosted 4 – from Turkey, England, Germany and Serbia. People working within EVS are very experienced and motivated. They are mostly ex-EVS volunteers so they know all aspects of the Programme – that is why we can support volunteers in the best way.
During our work we have seen that there are many institutions and organizations which would like to host volunteers but they are afraid of all “paper” work or they don’t have a person who would be responsible for it - that’s why we decided to help them and become coordinating organization.
EVS is for us a very important field of European integration and also a great possibility for young people (also those with fewer opportunities) to see other cultures, get new skills which help them in their future life. That is also one of the main goals of our organisation - promoting the idea of voluntary service- that’s why we’re involved in EVS activities. We also would like to give our future volunteers a possibility to the future volunteers to meet with Polish culture, Polish life but also to bring fresh ideas to our local environment.
Association Headquarters is located in Szczecin - is the capital and largest city of West Pomerania. It is one of the oldest and largest cities in Poland ( over 405 000 inhabitants). Szczecin is situated very close to German border and not far away from Baltic Sea cost. Szczecin is a port city thanks to Odra river. The city has an abundance of green areas: parks and avenues – wide streets with trees planted in the island separating opposite traffic. Szczecin has very interesting history it was ruled by Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Brandenburg and since the end of World War II it has been part of Poland again.
Description of the organisation
Association’s mission is to promote the idea of the civil society through the education and voluntary. The Association came into existence in 2002. Its name derives from the Greek word ”polites”, which stands for ‘the citizen’.
The Association works on many fields and carries out following programmes:
