An European based project is looking for an Agronomist professional, who will manage cultivation processes on medicinal plant cultivation in the Coimbra region, Portugal.
Assess current cultural practices of the cannabis industry including planting dates, irrigation and fertilization practices, and evaluate the impact of differences in these cultural practices on the production, season of harvest and quality of the plants.
Assist in the coordination of production schedules;
Work with the quality team on the performance of production while maintaining a safe, clean and compliant workplace;
The Agronomist will team work with the Cultivation Department to evaluate multiple cultivations, overseeing and managing a team within their group;
responsible for monitoring insect pressures, plant and soil development, and making appropriate recommendations to handle/oversee chemical applications and take corrective actions.
Supervise, evaluate, and report on production techniques to discover methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting, to improve yields and quality;
Complete all documentation to meet the company GACP and GMP standards requirements;
Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety;
Provide leadership for problem and conflict resolution;
Any other duty deemed essential as requested by the Master Grower.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum University degree in Agriculture/Horticulture;
Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience in a supervisory role and 2 years work experience in horticulture (cannabis or other plants);
Knowledge of inventory and production skills;
Good level of knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications;
Strong team player attitude and ethics.
LANGUAGE:
Good level of English
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be in the possession of a valid work permit for Portugal and driving license.
