THE POSITION
Miniclip.com is looking for an experienced Project Manager (Ports) to hire in our Oeiras (Portugal) Smartphone Games Development Studio. This is a full-time position, please apply only if you have the right to work in the Portugal.
DUTIES
As the Project Manager of mobile game ports you will be responsible for supervising and leading the porting of world-class games to Android OS, Symbian OS, Meego and Windows Phone 7. You will work with the development team to determine the technical requirements and to devise a production plan, budget and schedule for the ports.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Act as a liaison between the development staff and the executive staff
• Oversee the technical development (game programming) of the games
• Follow an iterative, prototyped, agile development process where usability and play tests ensure the intended game quality
• Create and maintain the roadmap of a portfolio of games
• Develop and maintain schedules and budgets
• Ensure deliverables are achieved efficiently
• Schedule timely quality assurance and testing, test ports and oversee outsourced testing teams
• Source external content (such as game audio and localization) and interface with 3rd party providers
• Ad-hoc tasks requested by management team to improve the performance of the mobile team
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for a social, hard-working person who enjoys working in team with other people and is passionate and dedicated about his/her work. The ideal candidate will be strongly skilled in the following:
• Fluent in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 3 – 5 years of experience in the management of game and/or entertainment products and services
• Experience managing and owning multiple products
• Technical background and a deep understanding of the Smartphone and games industry
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex game development project issues
• Strong teamwork skills
• Experience working with teams across different functions and geographical locations
• Ability to evaluate development risks and create contingency plans
• BA or BSc degree or equivalent
• Self motivated, with good organisational skills and close attention to detail
The following skills are desirable but not essential:
• Fluent in Portuguese
