Role Summary/Purpose
The GBS Customs COE Europe is part of a Global Customs COE organisation. At the request of GE Businesses the Customs COE develops and implements import and export processes to support supply chain needs in a compliant and cost efficient manner. The role of Customs Specialist – GBS GEII would be primarily support the compliant use of GE import entities including process development and post-entry audit.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform post-entry audit on use of GE import entities. Support GE import entities in customs process improvement. Establish and monitor gatepost process to enable compliant use of import entities Support Customs COE Leader in developing and supporting GE Customs Compliance programs in Europe related to import entities. Work with GE Businesses to Implement Standard Operating Procedures for regional import and export needs.. Perform customs brokers assessment and qualification for import entities. Act as liaison to local and regional Customs officials in resolving customs authorities’ inquiries and audits related to specific transactions and processes. Ensure Customs compliance and operations metrics are in place and reported regularly. Manage customs brokers operations on a daily basis and prepare regular brokers’ business reviews with import entities..
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s or Specialist degree in Customs, Legal, International Trade, Logistics and Economics or related disciplines3-5 years working experience in Customs and/or international logistics fields in international business environmentCustoms audit experienceUnderstanding of European Customs compliance requirementsStrong customer focusFluent in English Self-motivated, independent and ability to execute with minimum supervisionAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced, demanding environmentStrong analytical and risk assessment skillsStrong interpersonal, team building and communication skillsStrong MS Office skillsWillingness to travel across Europe up to 20%
