The Centro de Computação Gráfica (CCG) (www.ccg.pt) is an applied research center specialized in Computer Graphics and Multimedia technologies located in the North of Portugal with the aim to promote the use of the latest technologies coming out from research into prototypes and products that support the innovation cycle in companies and institutions of different sectors.
CCG is seeking for a highly-qualified, self-motivated researcher to participate in its research on European and national projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the scientific area associated with Computer Graphics,
FIELD OF WORK: The candidate should have adequate knowledge in scientific visualization, virtual and augmented reality, related immersive environments and, extensive hands-on experience in graphic engines as well as in 3d modeling. Experience in at least one of the above-mentioned areas (virtual reality, augmented reality or scientific visualization) is highly preferred. In addition to the opportunity to access the state-of-the-art experimental facilities and work in a multidisciplinary environment, CCG will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary. The position is for one year. It is renewable upon satisfactory performance.
EDUCATION / CURRICULUM PROFILE:
A successful candidate should have a PhD degree (or being in the process of achieving a PhD) in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Graphics or a relevant and related field of study. The applicant should have strong enthusiasm for work, excellent communication skills and a track-record for solving concrete problems and disseminating results to the scientific community. High level of English is a requirement. Portuguese knowledge is not a requirement. Portuguese knowledge in the mid-term is a clear plus. Other languages are also a plus.

EVALUATION AND SELECTION OF APPLICATIONS: The evaluation will take into account the applicant's merit, considering the parameters of the academic profile, curriculum and experience in scientific research, particularly in the areas of scientific expertise of interest to CCG. The selection of candidates will eventually be supplemented by an interview.
